'Oceano di Silenzio' masterclass workshop photo shootingBeauty of Umbria. A nude in the landscape photography masterclass by Patrick Nicholas, but also a behind the scenes look at the shooting of a 'Belle' picture entitled 'Oceano di Slienzio' inspired by Franco Battiato's song of the same name. Unfortunately for us a fisherman gradually dismantled our set in the lake as we were preparing the shoot. Shot in Lake Trasimene, Umbria, mid October 2018. There is a certain Chinese-Japanese influence evident in the final picture with a hint of Delft blue.
Medusa Photo Shoot Behind-the-ScenesPatrick Nicholas shoots Medusa, one of the Metamorphoses, in Holland. The protagonist is Valeria. We met at the Incanto restaurant in Amsterdam and on a whim I asked her if she would like to participate in the Belle project. Like all my models she is an amateur.

KlimtomaniaBehind-the-scenes documentary about the shooting of Klimtomania in Bologna by Patrick Nicholas, who has lived in Italy since the mid eighties. He is joined by his collaborators: models, make-up artist and hairdresser and journalist......and dog.
Balnea Vina Venus. Art Photography InspirationDutchman Alma-Tadema gave the British an accurately painted, but richly atmospheric vision of the ancient Mediterranean world. When I saw Monica at the casting session I thought of her immediately for Balnea Vina Venus a Tepidarium inspired image. The evocative inscription “Balnea, Vina ,Venus” (baths, wine, Venus) has been found in many a Roman ruin, so a bottle of chilled white Trebbiano wine has been set by the bench.
You Tube Backstage. Art Photography Portrait based on Velázquez Painting "The Rokeby Venus"The model, Vanessa runs a restaurant with her parents near Forli and they make their own pasta – hence her rolling pin peaking out from under the pillow. Venus had her mirror, now she gazes at herself, calmly satisfied and serenely vain, in a plasma screen recorded by a video-camera – a closed-circuit Venus and self fulfilling prophecy: she can really be admired on You Tube:
Galét Behind-the-ScenesA behind-the-scenes video of the shooting of 'Galét' by Patrick Richmond Nicholas based on 'Pornokrates' by nineteenth century decadent Belgian painter Félicien Rops. The unpaid model was 46 year old Gabriella, a hospital cook from Forlì who took part for the love of art. 2005.
