WATER PORTRAITS

A golden opportunity for a water portrait in the warm waters of Central Italy.

Patrick Nicholas is based in Orvieto in Central Italy, a land of water. Within an hour’s drive we have several lakes, springs, rivers, fast flowing streams at the bottom of deep gorges, and the Tyrrhenian Sea is only an hour away.

A water portrait is a truly unique experience so why not keep calm and let your hair down? A water portrait is an experience that will last forever.

Patrick Nicholas specialises in taking Water Portraits in Central Italy. Who wouldn’t prefer to be photographed in the warmth and beauty of the Tuscan landscape as opposed to a photographic studio? The area within an hour of Orvieto is a land of water: lakes, waterfalls, streams and and the Mediterranean.

This is a humorous video about the making of this picture, Oceano di silenzio, and the difficulties encountered during shooting. The video is set to Battiato’s song.

Italy, Land of Water

Imagine yourself lying on a sun warmed rock looking up at the purest blue sky, water rushing beside you and then seeing that image hanging on your wall.

“A thing of beauty is a joy for ever”

A weekend shoot

A water portrait was conceived as a weekend activity (but it can be during the week) of 3 nights and two days. The shoot usually takes an afternoon and evening each day. Normally we cater for at least two days shooting in order to visit varied locations.

The Cost

The cost excluding accommodation is €950. This includes transportation to the various locations, make-up and styling, and the shooting of scores of photos. PLUS three large prints on Hahnemuhle fine art water colour paper up to 50x70cm (20×28″). The prints will be sent to you at home in a tube. You will also receive the shots from the shoot on a pen drive or CD while you are in Italy.

The water-portrait season lasts from May to end of October. Contact Patrick Nicholas to arrange your unique water portrait.
